Tunisia Honeymoon Packages: Romantic Resorts, Spa Stays and When to Go

4 October 2026

Tunisia is a good fit for a honeymoon if you want sunshine, a spa and something to explore, without a long-haul flight or a long-haul price. Direct flights from London take around three hours, so you spend your honeymoon at the hotel rather than in the departure lounge. This guide covers the resorts and hotels we would look at first, and what to check before you book.

What makes a good honeymoon hotel in Tunisia

Honeymooners usually care about the same few things: a quiet place to relax, a good room, a spa, and somewhere nice to eat in the evening. In Tunisia the spa is a real strength. Thalassotherapy, treatments that use sea water, is a long-standing part of the country's hotel scene, and several five-star hotels have a full centre on site.

  • A room that feels special. Look for junior suites or suites rather than a standard double.
  • A spa with a hammam and sauna. Ideal for a slow day in the middle of the week.
  • More than one place to eat. An à la carte restaurant makes a change from the buffet.
  • A sandy beach and a quiet pool. Some hotels have a separate adults' pool.

Three resorts couples ask about

Gammarth: beach and sightseeing in one

El Mouradi Gammarth sits on a sandy beach facing the forest, close to Carthage, Sidi Bou Said and La Marsa, and is about 20 minutes from Tunis-Carthage airport. It suits couples who want a beach week with a day or two of sightseeing in the blue-and-white village of Sidi Bou Said. The hotel has a thalassotherapy centre with 28 treatment cabins, an indoor seawater pool, a hammam and two saunas. Rooms range from doubles to Executive and Business rooms, junior suites and Executive suites.

Port El Kantaoui: marina evenings

Port El Kantaoui is built around a marina with restaurants and bars, which makes evening walks easy. El Mouradi Palm Marina is built in Hispano-Moorish style near the marina, with gardens leading down to a sandy beach. It has a thalassotherapy centre with a seawater pool and 30 cabins, a hammam, two saunas, and junior and senior suites. El Mouradi Palace is on the beach facing the resort's golf course and has a thalassotherapy centre with 30 treatment cabins, an adults' pool and a presidential suite.

Yasmine Hammamet: lively and close to town

If you would rather have things to do close by, Yasmine Hammamet is the livelier choice. See our guide to Port El Kantaoui or Hammamet to compare the two.

When to go

Tunisia has a Mediterranean climate: hot summers and mild winters. For a honeymoon, many couples like late spring and early autumn, when it is warm without being at its hottest and the hotels tend to be quieter. Summer is the best choice if sea swimming is the priority. Winter suits a spa-focused stay and sightseeing in cooler weather, and some hotels run special dinners at Christmas and New Year. Planning tips

  1. Tell us it is a honeymoon. Add it in the special requests box when you book. We pass it on to the hotel; a room upgrade cannot be guaranteed, but it is worth asking.
  2. Choose your room before the price. On the Options step you can pick the room type, board and transfer. A suite often costs less than people expect.
  3. Book a private transfer if you want an easy arrival. Transfer times from the airport depend on the resort, so check the journey time shown in your booking.
  4. Think about board. Half board leaves you free to eat out in the evening; all inclusive is simplest if you want everything covered.
